Nix Fiat

It is a strange phenomenon that we, as a society, should enjoy eating compacted balls of solidified water crystals with cores of pure pollution. Stranger still that we should also encourage our children to throw themselves to the mercy of gravity and slide down steep hills of the stuff, merrily clicking away with our cameras. Nevertheless, herein are nestled some of the great joys of winter. I venture to postulate that these are some of the only joys of winter. There. I've said it.

But, Daddy! What big eyes you have!

So, yesterday, I get this crazy idea that I want to learn to sew. Pulcheria, being the kind, supportive philanthropist she is, said she’d help me learn. I don’t choose a simple pillowcase or hat. No way, not me. For my first sewing project since what has to be the seventh grade, I choose a cape and hood for Bree. Poor Pulcheria. Bless her heart. She patiently guided me along from 9:00pm to 3:30am (in a project that would have taken her only a couple hours). I am very, very happy with the results, though. It should fit her until she’s in third grade, too.
